We’re thrilled to announce that Intel FutureGen is back and applications for the next cohort are now OPEN!
If you're looking to get started in the esports and gaming industry, this programme is for you! It fosters ambitious student leaders, helping to develop their skills and enhance their future careers in the games and esports industry.
Intel FutureGen has already
witnessed numerous alumni make substantial strides with 70% of the previous
cohort going on to roles within the esports and gaming sector, working at
leading companies like Pokémon, Fnatic, Blizzard Entertainment, and Esports
Insider.
Are you part of the next wave of esports talent?
Applications are open to all students studying full-time at UK universities, giving you the chance to connect with industry experts, gain valuable knowledge, and take steps towards fully realising your potential.
Once again we have 20 spaces available on the 2024 programme, and much like in the previous year, you'll receive one-on-one sessions with leaders in the esports and gaming industry if you're successful in your application. Some sessions will also be streamed in part to the wider student community, followed by private Q&A sessions for the Intel FutureGen cohort afterwards.
The 2023 FutureGen cohort then had access to an exclusive Q&A session after the presentations on Twitch. Here’s a rundown of who we had this year:
We're also happy to confirm the buddy system is back where we pair professionals in the esports and gaming space with members of the cohort to provide industry insights over the programme’s duration. Experts from the most recent buddy system came from household names such as Activision Blizzard, OG Esports, PlayStation and Excel Esports.

“I've really enjoyed my
time in the Intel FutureGen programme, it's given me the opportunity to get
to know so many fellow students trying to make it in the esports industry,
network and gain advice from lots of industry professionals. I've also been
lucky enough to attend events through the programme that I wouldn't have
otherwise been able to, and overall I think it's been incredibly beneficial
towards my future career.”
Applications for students are now open until Monday 20th November. Applicants will be expected to complete four questions, three of which are written and one as a short video. A panel of industry judges, announced in late November, will review a shortlist of applications and select twenty finalists.
Intel FutureGen delivers a series of guest speakers from senior industry leaders plus exclusive Q&As, workshops, a new industry buddy system, access to industry events, and much more. Running through the academic year, the programme is delivered across a mix of digital and physical experiences and is a real opportunity and accolade for any aspiring esports industry professional.
